Did CBS make the GOTY discussions more vanilla?

Compared to years in the past the GOTY this year was very straight and to to the point. The topics were dull, the was nothing crazy or interesting to set it apart from other sites, and it felt like a corporate overlord forced them to stick to games.

Were they forced to change things? Now that the site makes us pay for Endurance Runs and now the GOTY, is CBS flexing their muscles to make GiantBomb PC and conformist?

I'm just going to close this now since your entire point of discussion is baseless and even if it were true, no one would ever confirm that is the case anyway.
