The release of this game is next week in the states and Nintendo of America have just announced that Wil Wheaton will be providing the voice for the main player character, Abe Lincoln.
Some of you might have played Broken Age in which Wil played a dude who lived in a log cabin and fought against slavery during the American... wait a minute...
Anyway, this seems like a really odd choice. I don't think Wheaton has a particularly great voice or voice acting ability and he's about the last person I could envision playing something like Lincoln.

I tend to agree.
I liked him on Broken Age. I've also listened to him read several audiobooks, most recently Locked In. He's good. He made listening to Ready Player One not as bad as the source material actually was. I watched the latest Table Top episode where he does a funny wizard voice, so I think he's perfectly capable at pulling this off if the game is more camp than serious.
Looking at the character list... wow. This game is weird! When I read Red Badge of Courage I always knew Henry Flemming would end up in a SRPG.
...Wil Wheaton's a voice actor?
Well, looked up some of his Broken Age voice work. He seems...okay? I dunno, sort of average I guess. Not really what I envisioned ol' Abe sounding like but maybe he'll do something different.

Gotta pay dem bills.
I imagine he is willing to do most jobs involving "nerd culture." It's not like he was ever in high demand in the acting world. Not hating, I wouldn't mind making okay money being a nerd celebrity, whatever that means. Showing up at nerd events as a well-known nerd?
Obligatory "Shut up, Wesley!" post. :P
I personally thought he was semi-retired after Star Trek, to be honest.
