Is there any reason why I can't flag comments?

I was just reading an article when I saw a bot post about some bullshit website and I clicked flag. The response was that I cannot flag right now and need to contact a mod. I remember I had gotten the same message a few months ago, so whats the deal? Am I a flagrant flager or something or is it simply a mod tool that I don't have access to?

You need to contact a moderator to reset your karma points*

*How the System Works:

• Karma points are hidden from all users except for the staff and moderators.
• Every user starts with 0 karma points.
• If you flag an item, you gain a karma point and the author of the content you flagged also gains a karma point.
• Once you get 5 karma points or higher, you can no longer flag any content.
• Once you get 10 karma points or higher, you can no longer post to the site.
• Everybody gains -1 point back at the end of every day.

If you're following all of the moderators, see which one is online right now so you can get them reset as soon as possible.
