What image file types are allowed to be uploaded?

I tried uploading a .bmp but it didn't go through. I tried searching the forums to see if there was a list of accepted formats, but I couldn't find one. Anyone know what types are accepted?

.gif

Bitmaps by definition are usually quite large (in terms of file size), I wouldn't be surprised if that were the reason they're not allowed.

Just convert them.
