Airplane worthy?

So I'm flying overseas and looking at getting some new vita games. Is Freedom Wars ok as an airplane game or will I be missing out some network features? I know there is the multiplayer component but didn't know how much multiplayer stuff bled into single player.

@datarez: this is probably too late to answer your question, but my understanding is that you don't need to do any multiplayer if you don't want to, and you don't miss out on anything exclusive or anything like that. I'm only a couple hours in (after barely playing it at launch), so I might be wrong, but that's what I've been told. I've been playing solo the entire time.
