help acquiring the platinum chip!

I murdered my way through the Fort but i didnt see Caesar anywhere but i killed all his legion, finally reaching Caesars tent where Benny in being held, however i didnt kill him then i left and came back and now he's gone. so where do i get the Platinum chip , I thought Benny was going to team up with me or something? Somebody please help! Thanks!
