Madcatz has a history of being shit, as far as I'm concerned. No clue what CTA is, which speaks for itself. And I've bought a couple decent Hori DS screen protectors. So.... Yeah.

Even though they get a bad rep from time to time, I'm going to say Madcatz.  That N64 controller is still rocking today!

Anyway, Hori is clearly the best.

Mad Catz has been doing really well lately based on the quality of their Street Fighter sticks and pads. I will also be buying their Rock Band 3 controller in the near future.

@Axersia:

CTA is the company who made the PS3 gun controller for Call Of Duty.

No kidding, their Street Fighter sticks are pretty damn good.

But yeah, I'd rather have nothing than unofficial things for pretty much everything.

Mad Catz has turned things around bigtime! Hori was selling the same exact so-so sticks for three generations in a row, when Mad Catz entered the scene with the awesome TE sticks,  kicked their  ass, and sent them back to the drawing boards.
