Played a bunch of this on the PC but fell out of it after a little while. If I had an iPad I'd get right back into it-- pretty clear it was made to be played on mobile.

Kinda sucks that it requires an internet connection though.

I have been waiting patiently for this version. Avoided the PC version because I knew I'd want to experience it fully on the Ipad. I'll be downloading it tonight.

Nope, that one will be awhile. The iPad is an easy conversion, it's virtually identical to the PC version. Making that game pleasant to look at on a 4-inch screen seems like it would take a lot more work. They have said it's coming eventually, though. Same with Android versions.

So this is strictly online? As someone who plays games mainly whilst commuting, and with little or no data/wifi access, that's a shame. I would have been totally up for sinking a mentally unhealthy number of hours into it.

I feel the same. I have a solid connection and there seems to be a bit of latency on the iPad version compared to when I play on the PC version on the same network. Works great for the most part though but I've had more random disconnects and opponents leaving at weird times in the game then ever before.

I had no issues with getting/keeping connected while playing on the iPad, bit the game is not performing well at all, technically (iPad 2), it's straight up chugging, but fortunatelly only in the menus, once I get into the game itself, it's fine. But when searching for a match for example, I can see the spinning wheel and hear a click noise several seconds before the screen moves, then it flashes to a literally single frame of the zoom out effect and then it snaps to the board screen. Not affecting the gameplay at all, but it could be done better.

There wouldn't be much point to playing against the bots for any significant length of time. You can easily destroy even the "expert" Innkeeper opponents with just the starter set of cards. Once you have unlocked a few cards and built a decent deck or two, it's not even worth playing that mode anymore...trust me, it gets boring fast.

Word of advice, this game plays terribly on an iPad 1. Very sluggish, single figure FPS and the usually stellar card art looks awful. Just a heads up!

This version seems pretty good, though it is a bit framey on the iPad 3. Though that might partly be because I am used to playing it at solid 60+ on PC.

Anyone played it on a iPad Mini? I am thinking about getting one of those, but if this and FTL aren't as good to play on the Mini I will get an Air instead.

I have an Air. It works just as well as on the PC. Very responsive. Patrick's video "I Dunno, Let's Play Hearthstone?" inspired me to try it on the PC. I prefer it on my Ipad. For some reason, I feel that if I am going to be sitting down to my PC, I should be playing something with a bit more meat to it. Either way, on the Air there is no chug, no tearing and load times are the same as on the PC.

@ben_h: I play on an iPad mini, specifically a 64gb with "retina display." It works great. The frame rate might dip a tiny bit when lots of complex animations play out, by it's barely noticeable. I haven't played FTL on it yet but I'm sure I will.
