Are you buying Lost Planet 3 this Tuesday?

To be honest I've completely forgotten about this game. It seems decent, but doesn't seem worth 60 bucks. Hell I don't know why the devs wanted to change up the Lost Planet gameplay formula. Nobody never asked for it, and now were left with this. I'm probably one of the few people that enjoyed Lost Planet 2, and I didn't even think it was a bad game.

I didn't even know this was even coming out. Kind of forgot it existed.

This should be a poll. Also, I have almost no clue about what this game is, and I have not played the previous games...

I remember seeing it like 2 E3's ago, it was first person and had mechs, and it was being developed by Spark Unlimited. Then cut to now and its already being released? Time really does fly.

I actually thought Turning Point and Legendary could've been really good games, the ideas behind them were good. Turning Point turned out to be just a bad game and Legendary was just generic but still a better step in the right direction, so I hope they finally nail down a good game this time around, however I've never had much interest in Lost Planet so I probably won't even be checking this out unless it turns out really good and standalone

No. The first one way pretty good and that was all I needed of this franchise.

If they didn't change developers than sure! But they did so nope! I haven't seen much of the game (just skimmed through the video above) and it still doesn't look that great. Doesn't help that I have zero faith in the new developer.

I should note that I loved both Lost Planet 1 & 2 despite their flaws.

Spark hasn't really put out any quality products so I'll wait and see. It's a shame the game went down the cover-shooter road, I really liked the first Lost Planet on paper.

I'm not buying it but I'm renting it if Gamefly comes through. I'm curious to see how much it's changed from the previous games. It looks quite a bit different from the videos I've seen.

Whoa I think the first and last time I heard about this was E3 2 or 3 years ago. Yeah it's gonna do terribly.

Given the pedigree of the developer, I'm going to go out on a limb and say this won't be very good. I'd love to be proven wrong and for them to finally make something of quality, but I won't hold my breath.

I won't be buying it and I doubt many others will be given the total lack of awareness for it. Seems like it's just being sent out to die.

On a side note, LP2 had some cool things going for it, though overall it needed a lot of improvement. I also recently just played through the most of the first one, and apart from the fact that it should be called "Getting Knocked Down: The Video Game", I thought it was pretty good.

Hell no. Capcom needs to drop this trash franchise. (Or at least do it right)

There's a Lost Planet 3?

I really enjoyed both Lost Planet 1 and 2. The story in the first was pleasant enough, aside from the over-the-top extreme kind of ending, but what I really enjoyed about Lost Planet 1 and 2 was the unique feel of the shooting. I totally understand that it wasn't the most widely appreciated style, outright hated by some, but it was really the only unique thing this series had going for it so I'm sad to see it become just another third person shooter in that regard. I will likely give it a go down the line but I have no interest in rushing out to buy this.

I've never played a Lost Planet game, so I don't know if this game will be good or not. I've seen some gameplay videos, though, and it does look intense.

This game needs good reviews, so I can see if it's worth my money.

Maybe when the price goes down. I liked the first one and had no interest in the second but maybe if I don't have a ton of games to play someday I'll give it a go.

Most probably will, yeah. Was actually quite looking forward to it. It looks interesting, to me at least. Loved LP1 and LP2. I'm gonna go ahead and give this game the benefit of the doubt.

Nah. From what I've seen the writing seems surprisingly snappy at least; very Uncharted-like. Though the gameplay unfortunately looks kinda naff and super generic. I can see a lot of 6/10's and 3/5's inbound.

The producers of this have left it out to die. I've seen Indie games with more promotion. Either they have no faith in it at all or this will be a hidden gem everyone looks past on their way to buying just about anything else.

Wow, this game comes out tomorrow. I thought this game was still a ways off. Guess Capcom doesn't give a shit about it.

I think the protagonist looks more like John Cusack than Nicholas Cage. I've never played a Lost Planet game, are they just Third Person Shooters with mechs and aliens?

If this would be as enjoyable third-person sci-fi shooter as Dead Space 2 is, I'd gladly spend my money. But like others have said, the complete lack of promotion isn't exactly promising. Here's hoping for a QL poppin' up.

Out of curiosity is this using MT Framework or Unreal? Was wondering since only Capcom's internal team uses MT and typically their outsourced projects use UE.

Nah, I don't think it looks very good. It reminds me a little of that last Red Faction game they put out mixed with Dead Space 3. I'd love to be proven wrong, but it does look kinda like the standard third person shooter fare that will get a bunch of middling to low scores. I realised I needed to stop buying games like this earlier this year, there's always the temptation when the genre is one of your favourites.

Never again, Spark Unlimited. Never again.

I'm cautiously optimistic for LP3. If there's a good balance between combat, doing side missions and exploring the planet with the RIG, it might be fun! Even if it's not original.

I've got Killer is Dead and Project Diva F this week so... no.

The first one was amazing (at least, I thought so at the time). The campaign got kind of crazy, and the multiplayer was a lot of fun. Part 2 was different, but I missed the isolated feel of the original.

And I thought this looked interesting but I have so many games being played at the moment. And once the Vita arrives on Wednesday I have a dozen more.

So no, in short.

Nope. The series never did anything for me.

I'd say "Hell, I'll give it a shot." but then I remembered it's made by Spark and fuuuuuucckkkkkk ttttthhhhhaaaaattttttt.

Capcom is definitely just sending this one out to die in the cold. I've seen pretty much no advertising, no promotion, etc.

Nope, Killer is Dead and Rayman Legends for me this week. I'm also still chewing through The Wonderful 101 and Saints Row IV and have The Bureau to play.

Suddenly, I'm fascinated. It's always interesting when a AAA game is released with almost no fanfare.

Reviews are starting to slip out now, and as expected, its reception thus far is looking to be mostly middling at best, though both IGN and Polygon give praise to the acting at least.
