MGS5 "Virtue" Livestream in over.

Hey all, this is hopefully the last of these I'll be posting. Anyway, this is apparently the grand finale of the MGS5 livestreams, codenamed 'Virtue', and should be the last we see of the game at TGS. It will starting in around 2 hours after this is first posted.

Given that this is most likely the final major games conference MGS5 will be at before release, unless we count PAX, there COULD be a new trailer with a release date. Or not, Kojima is kind of out of his mind. Unlike yesterday's, this is a dedicated Phantom Pain stream. Feel free to post baseless speculation below as we await this. Really sorry if anyone is tired of seeing me link these, this is the last one.

I'm ready for a release date. I really hope it comes out on PC same day or close because otherwise I'll have to play the PS3 version.

Literally the only reason that I have been posting these is because these are for once at a time reasonable to me. It's 4:26pm in Australia, on a nice Sunday afternoon.

Kojima is genuinely right now at the P.T. conference while the MGS5 stream is meant to begin.

He's got too many irons in the fire. He is the entire reason Konami continues to exist.

No, it used to be just as big as E3 if you cared about Japanese games.

Quiet's voice actress is so pretty. It looks like they modeled Quiet's face after her, as well. Quite the resemblance.

That's a cool dress, too! Though, I wonder if they should have told her she could dress down like them. ha. She should be able to wear a comfy Diamond Dogs shirt like them. We're all Diamond Dogs!

I don't think I've ever actually seen Kojima just talking, so this is nice (even if I can't understand most of it).

The more I see of the game, the stuff I learned about Quiet recently, the whole prospect of seeing Big Boss become Big Boss. Things look like they'll get appropriately gnarly. I'm rapidly getting excited for MGS5, and man, I haven't been excited for a Metal Gear game since MGS2.

Also, japanese continues to seem like such an incredibly fun language. I wanna learn japanese, arabic, and french.

I wonder, will the overseas release have an option for Japanese audio? These people sound pretty great.

I love Big Boss's actor.

So, as a summary, that stream had exactly jack shit.

Still somewhat entertaining, but definitely nothing, not even a new snippet trailer or tech demo.

After hearing that song again, though, I'm gonna go watch that amazing MGSV trailer. ha

Eh, that was it? Oh well, spent most of the stream watching other videos. Still amped for MGSV. It will so diesel!

That's really weird. When is the release of this going to be announced then? Will it just be a random press release from Konami?

The MGS5 wiki lists Stefanie Joosten as the english voice-actor, but a cursory search isn't yielding any other confirmations. Do we know for sure that she's doing the english VO, or is it just the japanese VO? She seems to only be speaking japanese in these behind the scenes videos.

Lookin through this all reminded me that Kiefer Sutherland is doing Snake's VO. God, I hope that doesn't suck. I hope even more that Hayter comes back at some point as Solid Snake.

I... have never heard her speak English, and I can find no indication that she does. So, maybe she is only doing the Japanese VO?

I can't find any info on anyone else playing Quiet.

Wait, this is dumb. Quiet is supposed to be mute through the whole game, right? Then they'll probably use the same screams of pain and such that she provides for the Japanese VO. Of course.

I think it has mainly been speculation based on a ton of mistaken listings suggesting "Spring" or "March". I'm not sure if there has been a basis for those errors, but I would be a little surprised if it released later than Spring. I mean, they've really pushed it already, and they certainly seem in "game is half a year or less away from release" mode. It was widely guessed that the release date would be announced at TGS, but uh... here we are.

Not sure what to make of it. Maybe they'll just surprise us and suddenly reveal it tomorrow. ha.

Yeah, it's why she's Quiet. They have suggested that some trauma caused her to become mute. (it has been widely speculated that rape is involved)

I now feel a little dumb thinking about who might be voicing her. heh. Stefanie was still the model for her and acted out her parts, but for obvious reasons, she probably didn't provide many line reads for it.

Maybe they'll just suddenly say in January, "MGS V is out today! Go buy it!"

I wonder how online retailers like Amazon would handle that. Would they be clued in? Would they ship out as soon as the announcement is made or would they ship earlier to get it to people by the time the announcement happens?

In such a scenario, it's more likely they would say "It will be out a week from now!" to give time for it to arrive.

Though, I'm just joking. I think they will have a ton of pre-order stuff; so, they'll have to announce the date soon if it is coming out in the Spring.
