3ds account questions that I cant explain in title

(yes this is my second thread today on the 3ds but thats cause I never use it and am very confused

the title isnt very clear but thats because my question isnt.

I bought a 3ds 1 year ago, I assume I had a nintendo ID because I bought 3 games and still had a 60$ balance on my account.

I lend it to a friend and he creates an account, under his ID but the nickname is my ID. I try to go to the store and none of my passwords work, send email reset but turns out its on his email.

so I log on and still have the 60$ balance...

I'm confused as to how he could have created an account on my 3ds since youre supposed to only have one but all my games and balance is still there.

any explanation? I'm worried if I use the delete account fonction it'll erase everything and my balance. HELP

The balance is tied to the hardware so whatever Nintendo Network ID is on there has access to it. Any purchases made with it will stay on that 3DS unless you do a system transfer to another 3DS device.

Did you have a Nintendo Network ID on the 3DS before you let your friend create one? (Not your system profile)
