I think you may have answered your own question there.

Also -- 8 oz in the typical can. It wasn't all Red Bull, that could bankrupt a man, after all. Still, 128 oz of energy drinks is quite a bit, and now that I've made it over the hump (two days I needed to be on my game and yet had no time to sleep), I'm not exactly sure what to do with myself.

There is totally a website where you can see how much of an energy drink you need to drink to die. I wish I could remember the name or be bothered to google it.

Also: You should read those warnings on the back of energy drinks, they contain a lot of ingredients you do not want to have large amounts of in your body. Its extremely bad for your heart.

RedBull has crap for Taurine,  And I find that the energy drinks with more Taurine are the ones I prefer the effect of.
They seem to be less of that "Buzzed" effect you get from caffeine and more of a lucid, attentive, alert kind of.... "high"
Such as....

My Energy Drink of choice.  3-4 hours of alertness from one bottle                                                                    I think the most I have put back in one day is 7
