A friend of mine who's way into prog rock got me to listen to Metropolis Pt 2 back in the day, and now that Panic Attack is coming out for RB I'm listening to a bit of Octavarium.
So I was wondering what would be considered the Magnum Opus of Dream Theater, their definitive album.
Any Dream Theater fans?
I wouldn't say I'm a huge fan or anything, but I'm familiar with the bands work and I deeply respect the bands musical prowess.
I have absolutely despised every album they have put at after (and including) Train of Thought.
But I have a soft spot for most of their albums prior to the new ones. Especially Inner Turbulence which I thought was a fantastic album.
I hope they one day get back to their earlier works.

I like some Dream Theater. Haven't listened to all of their stuff, Images & Words is my favorite album.
"wow. my high school percussion program took a whole bunch of modern songs, and wrote them for a percussion ensemble. under a glass moon was one of them. we actually paid some guys to come play guitar and bass. our teacher played the drum set part, and a student played all the synth stuff (including the solo) the rest of us had to cover the guitar part on mallet instruments (like a xylophone)I love dream theater, my favorite song is "under a glass moon""
awesome song. very hard to play.
