Both Kinect and Move unimpressive to me. (Question)

As of right now, both Kinect and Move are very unimpressive. Basically, what I see is this: 
 
Microsoft doing something cool but ruining it by making it extremely expensive, limiting it to basic Kinect-only games, and forcing non-360S gamers to have another god awful power brick.  
 
Sony making a 100% wii-rip off controller complete with a remote and 'nunchuk' but in Sony fashion, and making it usable on most games. Then again, I saw it used on Socom 4 and it looked terrible. You simply can't use Move for an FPS. That's why Wii does not do well in the shooter area. You get a much better response with a couple analog sticks and a button layout. 
 
Basically, what I want to know, is, do I have anything surprising to look forward to based on my current opinion, or is this basically exactly what they are?

Microsoft would have you believe that Kinect is the absoloute future of gaming, but all they're showing is casual nonsense. Until they can prove there's something there that their current fan-base wants to play, then they're not going to do that well, really. 
 
Move looks like it has a bit more potential, but it still seems, as you said, like a Wii rip off, and it isn't even original enough to try something different like Microsoft, so... Yeah.

I was almost ready to buy the Move, but the more I think about it the less I care.
I don't see how they can make hardcore games with Kinect if you can't move your character everything has to be on rails right?  So that seems dumb.

I have, they're like the xbox versions, if they got kicked in the balls.The Wii's strengths are elsewhere, I'd rather play Wario Ware than Modern Warfare. "

I have no interest in either, but my wife was very intrigued by Kinect.
 
I wouldn't be surprised if she drops the 200 bucks just for Dance Central.

The Move is a Wii HD, so people who want to play a better Wii without Nintendo games can hop ship. But Wii without Nintendo is kinda useless...
 
As for Kinect...I think if they let you sit down and use a 360 controller or some kind of nunchuk, it could work for somethings. Moving with the analog stick and moving your body while necessary. And sitting, can't forget sitting.
