At my office we all sit together in a big room. We're a small team and no one is further away than you can speak to them without shouting. Yet we usually chat over Skype...of course we talk too, but surprisingly often we communicate through text chat over Skype. Anyone else experience this?

The main reason for us is obviously that most of us wear headphones for listening to the BombCast (or just me, who knows), but that just means it's easier to get someone's attention through chat, doesn't explain why we continue the conversation there...such odd creatures we humans are.

At my office, people who work in the same room like to have conversations using the building's intercom system. It's really annoying since anybody else who cares about what they're saying is in the room with them.

The posts in this thread reminds me of the show The Office.
