can anyone recommend a cheap and simple mp3 player that I could just pick up at Target or Wal-Mart for like $20? I will only be syncing podcasts to it and playing the podcasts. Nothing fancy.

I don't think there is going to be many recommendations (Though I could be wrong).

Anything you get for $20 is going to be a cheap piece of shit, so just get any of them.

This 8gig mp3 player is half off right now. It isn't worth full price, yet for less than $50 the feature set is pretty nice. Also, don't mind the reviews saying that it doesn't support playlists. I own a cheaper Coby model and you can do playlists, it's just a little confusing at first.

Archos is a solid company and that MP3 player is pretty neat. Personally, if you want an affordable but solid MP3 player without having to go through Apple, I'd go for the Sanza Clip. It's very tiny (like 2 inch height) and you can even get MicroSD cards to add even more memory than what is already on board. For $30, that's a hell of a deal.

Why not get one of the older versions of an iPod Shuffle, smallest it goes is 2gb and I'm sure the older versions are cheaper
