Demons souls - 1

I recently obtained a copy of demons souls (i think i'm year late counting i'm in the US) 
 
The character creation is messed up, no matter what you do the character never looks as nice as you hoped. after managing to make a decent looking thief and having trouble with naming him (i picked up a book and named him after the author) i watched a cut scene and was thrown into the game. 
 
i tumbled through a tutorial level, and people said this game was hard! and touched the arch stone to carry on and finally i met the Vangaurd.  
 i tried to roll... ended up healing (aren't i smart?) and he hit me. He tried again, i rolled and hit him and he hit me again... now i'm dead... a dead person... a dead person who is dead... 
 
after a intro to the nexus i walked around to see nothing but a depressed guy who laughs a lot, a old black smith, and a lonely man who wants my stuff.. oh ya and a chick who does nothing so far... not sure her name. 
 
i finally left for world 1-1. things tried to kill me and did so i left for the night... good night.
