Film - Sucker Punch
Yes, it's Zach Snyder.
Yes, it'll be stupid and big and brash, which is what you should be expecting from him.
Out in 2011.

I think Zach Snyder gets too much shit. Watchmen was a disappointment, but 300 was entertaining and Dawn of the Dead is pretty awesome. I expect sucker punch to be pretty entertaining.
I also remember reading that Snyder joined twitter today, don't know how that matters but it's something to know.
Looks pretty good but hella cheesy. Also some of those special effects need polish. I'm intrigued though.
I want this to be good, not out of any personal need, but because I think that for a movie like this to be quality viewing would be the kind of affirmation of humanity that we need in today's world.
Also, chicks wit gunz!
looks cool! tho the smattering of ultra-violence snyder usually puts in his films is a bit of a turn-off for me. i like action, it just doesnt need to be borderline slasher-film gratuitous torture gore. or gorture. i just coined that.
I think it'll be good. I consider myself a fan of his works and he hasn't made a bad film yet in my books. A good critic I like listing to, Moviebob (you might know him as Game OverThinker), called him " Michael Bay But With Actual TALENT."
I've said it before here and I'll say it again. When I heard about this project, it immediately jumped to my top 5 for 2011. Now that I've seen the trailer, it's even more exciting. I may get some grief over this, but it looks like an anime or a comic book come to life. Giant robots, dragons, biplanes and zeppelins, girls in school girl uniforms welding katanas, other chicks dressed up in steampunk outfits with machine guns...it's like everything the 12 year old in me ever thought was cool has been blended together and then blown up by a few crates of TNT. I don't understand the detractors, but everyone has a right to their own tastes. I'm certain for some, the muscle bound, testosterone injected Expendables is more appealing. Sweaty guys grunting as things explode behind them can be cool, too, but I think there is room for both forms of fantasy-action in film.
"watchmen was not stupid or brash. neither was 300. he just took the comics and made them the story boards. also i thought his dawn of the dead was better than the original (know im gonna get hate for that one) my point is that he is a good director.

Whoops, sent my last message as a PM...

" The graphic novels of Watchmen and 300 were not stupid or brash, but by having what is essentially the world's biggest fanboy (see Mark Kermode's thoughts on this) be the director of their cinematic versions, they turn into something else...bastardised, but still immensely enjoyable experiences. Is Alan Moore's original work superior? Obviously so, but do I want to sit down and read a book when I'm tired/drunk/high/want something on in the background whilst I work/play/try to pass out at 3am? No.
Zach is not Werner Herzog or Stanley Kubrick, and that's just fine by me. I love all three.
By the way, my use of the word stupid has no negative connotations in any way. I love big and brash and crazy and mad and stupid and corny and cheesy and wild and silly. I value them all as much as I do deep, thought-provoking story lines and concepts, masterful use of the sonic and of the optic, as well as subtly layered character development and brilliant dialogue."
