Hey, I'm in the market for a TV that is 55"-60" inches. I'm considering either getting a plasma or and LED TV but am leaning towards plasma because I feel you get more for your money. I'm trying to decide to get either a 58" Panasonic or Samsung plasma but I can't decide which. Please give me advice, I'm open to other ideas.

Samsung is a pretty popular T.V. brand, maybe go with them? By the way, I would go with LED if you have the money.

@Wolverine:
Do you mean LCD?

LED is an expensive backlight to the LCD.

Well LED from what I understand is for all intents and purposes an LCD tv. It just has LED lighting or something and are more expensive. There are a ton of LCD vs. Plasma debates on the internet you can read. You may just want to go for a regular LCD and save some cash. By the way, regular LCD is probably still better than plasma. I don't know though, I'm no expert. Google this shit!   :P

They are actually starting to market LED lit LCD t.v.s as "LED t.v.s" now.

@JJWeatherman: To tell you the truth I would prefer to go with a plasma because the frame rate is better and I personally think it has a better picture in dark rooms.

LED TV's  have  lower power consumption and slightly better image quality but yeah the price....LCD tv's i really like  Bravia's a Samsumg's but whatever you going to buy try to get the one with more inputs cuz that's what makes a tv have a longer use-life than others. but if you are interest in 3D gamming (just saying) you may wanna wait like 9 months for the 3D ready TV's (will be expnsive) hope i help :O .

Thanks but I have no interest in 3D gaming until it is really mainstream.

I have two Samsung LEDs at my place and love them both, I would highly recommend them. I've had good experiences with Sharp Aquos as well.

I read a review about the Samsung LEDs having weird backlight issues, have you had any problems like this?
