...if I already know a number of important "moments" that happened in the series?
Is Breaking Bad still worth watching...
Yes
Yes.
Out of curiosity, what do you know (please use spoiler tags)?
Gus (I think that's his name) gets his face blown off and Walt dying in the end.
I think it is still worth watching even if you know some of the story beats. I really enjoyed how the more and less important "moments" played out (acting, dialogue etc.), I am even considering watching the whole thing again pretty soon.
Do you generally lose interest when you know the story of something? Have you ever read a book more than once? Depending on those answer your enjoyment may vary ;-) . I'd say give it a chance for the first season and decide after a few episodes.

That's pretty much nothing, I mean obviously major, but it won't affect viewing experience at all, I don't think.

I do admit, I hate spoilers of any kind for any type of storytelling medium lol. Still, it sounds like the show's quality is too superb to not watch, even if I know a couple of important moments.

Yeah both of those things are kind of a given anyway, so I don't think it'll change much for you. You still may not enjoy it, but it'll be for other reasons than knowing those two things.
@shootermcgavin: You see both of those moments coming seasons in advance.
Breaking Bad isn't really about the plot points, it's about the character development.
So it's absolutely still worth watching.
I second this. Wouldn't be a stretch to say it has some of the best cinematography and acting ever on TV. Rian Johnson directed a bunch of episodes. Even with spoilers the show has some of the most tense moments out there. I can rewatch it and still think its awesome.
It also has some of the best videogame easter eggs on TV from Jesse playing Rage to a PS Vita on the coffee table.
The cinematography and acting are still worth seeing even if you know all the plot points in my opinion.
Yeah those spoilers aren't going to ruin the show. They're big for sure, but it's pretty easy to come to the conclusion that those things happen even while watching the show.
Yes.

Yes. Breaking Bad is a morality play that's really heavy on symbolism and visual cues, so spoilers aren't a deal breaker.
@shootermcgavin: Yeah, it's more about the journey of the characters. Just a heck of a show with one of the best final seasons I've ever seen.
No I don't think it would hold up today. It is quite a different world from when it first aired, but if you can still appreciate something for what it was in the history of television you might get something out of it that way.
What the hell are you talking about?
It's still as fantastic today as it was when it started long long ago in the distant past of 2008.
Yes.

I started watching the show after reading about the first one. Enjoyed every bit of it. The second one isn't really that big of a deal if that's all you know.
oh and i was spoiled for the first one which kind of sucked but wasn't a deal breaker at all.
*DING* :-[
So long as you don't know the way the film Mr. Magoriam's Wonder Emporium intersects with the story you should be fine.
It's a really good show, it's not The Wire good, but no shows are.
It's up there with The Shield for me, it's more of a thrill ride than The Wire but it has a few slips and stumbles which don't quite make it the same level of quality.
I think it makes sense though because Breaking Bad is meant to be kinda goofy, as far as I know.
edit: Everyone should watch The Wire, even if the first season is very slow.
Finally finished the entire series guys and all I have to say is THANK YOU. What an incredible experience this show was. I hope this thread serves as a message to others to watch the show even if you know what happens! The way each moment is built up throughout the season is just masterful.
Next up: The Wire
Knowing and experiencing are two different things.
Breaking Bad is among the best shows to watch outside the normal TV week-to-week schedule. A lot of shows get up their own ass, or get cancelled, or get money thrown at them for years until the plug is pulled and you get an unsatisfactory ending. They managed to write an intense series with a satisfying ending.
Also, you won't have to deal with the BULLSHIT that was the Season 5 split. South Park splits their season, but they do them every half-year. It's not a SEASON if it spans two years, AMC.

The Wire is fantastic, that and The Sopranos are just on another level to Breaking Bad.

As with all great stories its about the journey, not the destination. Breaking Bad is good because it's a master class in building story, characters, and tension.
