Laptop computer and LCDTV interference.

I have a problem. whenever i turn on my laptop computer, the signal to my television is cut out. but when i shut off my laptop computer, the signal to the television comes back. Of course this laptop is wireless and battery operated. whenever i step a few feet outside of the room the signal comes back. What is causing this? is there any kind of fix?
