Hey everyone, I'm interested in purchasing obscure Japanese candy such as Wasabi-flavored Kit-Kats and pens that smell like Hi-Chew.

Does anyone know a good website to buy these things from? I'm looking for a cheap place.

Also, does anyone know if there are local stores that sell this stuff? I live in NYC, so if anyone knows of a good place, let me know.

Thanks!

I'm sure there are all sorts of random stores in the ethnic neighborhoods in NYC. Find a good convenience store, that's where I get my weird candy fix in Japantown in San Francisco.

At first I thought that said candles...

I know my local world market carries some foreign candies, including some Japanese goodies. But I don't think there's anything too bizarre in their selection.

There is a huge japanese supermarket in North Jersey, looks to be not too far from LaGuardia. I'll bet they have what you need. It's called Mitsuwa.

Haha, yeah me too. This is significantly less kinky than I was hoping for.

Rakuten is a very popular competitor to Amazon in Japan that has only recently started shipping products overseas. The prices are fairly typical of what you would pay in Japan (so don't expect any bargains), but they have a pretty good selection of all kinds of stuff. Unfortunately, they appear to have run out of any crazy Kit-Kat flavours, though if you were check regularly, then you'll probably find that more appear on a fairly regular basis.

... why? Sounds like something some loser anime fan would do. Not that I would ever accuse someone of being an anime fan- I would never insult someone like that.
