I love Matt & Kim. Some don't, but that's fine. Their cheery brand of Indie-Pop has been such a welcome addition to my usual depressing (albeit still awesome) Indie such as Crystal Castles, Interpol, The National...so on and so forth. ANYWAY, besides their music, they also make fantastic videos.

Lessons Learned is the "Video of the Year" (Whereas Daylight is right up their in my own Song of the Year running) and seriously, how can you not crack a smile watching two people in love making the music they want to, and having fun doing it?

Admittedly, you can take or leave the music, but it's the overwhelming positivity that make M&K so damned great. If you have a chance to see them live, might as well go for it. Like it or not, it will put a smile on your face.

If I am not mistaken they are both graduates of the uber-hip Pratt School of design in Brooklyn, so it makes perfect sense that their videos would be cutting edge. That, and I think they seem to have a pretty good relationship with their video director.

yeah their videos aren't too shabby, especially lessons learned, of course! i really hope that what they did was totally real, yeah?

the music's not too bad, i guess this is the kind of indie pop that doesn't really get to my head and piss me off

Whats depressing about The National?
Downbeat and ever so slightly melancholic perhaps, but I always felt their music was uplifting in a strange sort of way.

Matt & Kim were fucking amazing live. Regret missing them when they came around with Cut Copy. Show was packed.

Although having nothing to do with the genre, this music video is pretty awesome IMO.
