This message is mainly for the ones that live California. Basically, Im moving to L.A. in a couple of weeks and Im gonna be using the bus to move around for awhile, while I save up for my car. What I want to know is that where do I go to buy my monthly bus passes in California and if there are other important info that you think is a must know for me, let me know and thank you all inadvance.
Moving to L.A. California for the first time.
Moving to LA w/o a car? Good luck sir - I mean that.
Here's the LA Metro homepage, should have what ya need: http://www.metro.net/
Yeah I lived in la for a year before I got a car. I basically had to live within walking distance of work and grocery stores and had a lot of friends with whom I could go to places with. It's doable, but I would suggest living as close to work/food as possible. And when you do need stuff you could always rent a car for a day and stock up!
If you ever need help ask the latinos. Mostly the older female mexican ladies. They know their way around town and are more likely to be friendly and help and not just ignore you like you were worthless to them.
As for a bus pass yeah that's gonna blow , you get them at check cashing places.
There's also a subway that'll be your best friend.
