So I've been using Windows 8 since it came out and for some reason, I'm really enjoying it. That's despite how I felt when I tried the RTM preview (I LOATHED it). But after being able to upgrade for a measly $15, I've found that I'm really enjoying the new features. The thing I like most about having switched to 8 is my proficiency in keyboard shortcuts have increased exponentially. I'm finding myself using the shortcuts with almost every task and I've really enjoyed it so far. Also I think the new task manager is pretty good. Shows a lot of useful information in a neat way.

Anyone else squeezing any enjoyment out of the new windows so far?

I remember using the shortcuts a whole lot when I was using the consumer preview.

I like it. I don't really know why but I like it.

I think I just like change. I loved when Win95 came out, loved when XP came out, never had Vista, loved when Win7 came out and love Win8 now that's it's here.

Or maybe it's just that I spend so much time working on a Windows machine that a new version of Windows is almost like getting a new office.

Honestly, there's nothing I love or really hate about it. I have it set up so that it's working just like windows 7 and I even converted that god awful metro thing into an eye sore of a start menu. I stripped everything out of it but the few things I used start for and now I just use it as a giant, unnecessarily full screen start menu.

The only thing I'm actively hating right now is that I gotta go to the other side of the screen now to access the restart/shut down buttons. Thankfully it's not something I have to do often, but ever dam time I go to do it I have to stop for a good 5-10 seconds to remember where it is now.

I just hit the power button on my computer to turn it off. If for some reason I do it the other way, it's windows key + I which I'm pretty sure brings up the settings menu and the power option's in there. But the best way for me is just hitting the power button right there on the case.

How is it for browsing downloaded porn? (Folders and folders full of thousands and thousands of pictures and videos)

Don't act like people aren't wondering this.

Download XBMC and then just search for XBMC at the start screen. Let it manage all of the flesh on flesh pictures and videos =)

i have two monitors so Win8 is good for those duel monitored types.

i had a little problem with Photoshop / Wacom where i would get a little info bubble that told me what modifier keys i was holding (very annoying while illustrating) but i've resolved that.

There is an issue with a few games here and there that won't run. havn't gone through my whole Steam list but the games that i've tried to fire up that wouldn't run so far are IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover and the Hector: Badge of Carnage adventure games.

The new task manager is indeed awesome. Enough of a reason to upgrade.

Being snappier and booting up really fucking fast was more than enough reason for me to upgrade. I think it's great.

What does Win + X do? Is it the Spotlight on Mac or Shell Search on Gnome?

Downloading it now. Used the loophole posted here to get it for $15 instead of $40. Yeah that's right, take me to jail.
