Wartune looks to be some random MMO, but their ad is PRETTY GREAT. Unfortunately, there's nothing else about "making love against the evils" in the game, it looks like a pretty standard WoW clone. Has anyone else gotten this ad or been curious about the game before now? I'm sure most people will respond with "adblock, bro", but the only reason I'm not a subscriber right now is because I was poor all summer and now I'm simply waiting for the BLLSL. We don't have a page on the site for Wartune, so I'm gonna leave this in off-topic because that's where most of these ad conversations are going. I have no issue with GB having the Wartune ad, to clarify; it's non-invasive, and I normally would've just ignored it, but I was sitting down back at my computer with a pizza when I saw it.
I'm always fascinated by the fact that there are MMOs that I've simply never heard of; how can an MMO truly be "massive" without anybody knowing it exists? I guess that's why I'm asking if anybody's heard of this game, or maybe a little digging will turn up the fact that it's not American-based or something like that. Well, if there's discussion value to be had, the discussion will come out, either about Wartune or about goofy ads. Would this ad, or an ad like it, make you more interested in a game? It certainly caught my attention, though probably not for the right reasons. Does this kind of ad make you angry the way Tomb Raider or Hitman ads make you angry? Is this less offensive? Or are they simply not to be held to the same standard because whoever made Wartune "wouldn't know any better?" Personally, it's just so ludicrous that I can't really take it seriously, though I wasn't so upset by the Hitman trailers either.
I'm rambling. Let the topic be posted, and let it grow or shrivel from here. I've got pizza to eat.
