I enjoy recording my gameplay with voice over in style of a Let's Play. I have good capture software for PC, but I also want to get into recording on PS4. I found the Elgato for that. Seems perfect.

However, I get a nasty interference static through my microphone that is very noticeable in the final video. So I was looking for a new mic. Now, I seem to have found a great one in the Blue Yeti. However, while checking out the specs, I noticed it's USB. I am recording on my laptop, and I am kind of under the impression that my laptop just can't handle USB mics. I think that's where the static comes from. The reason I want a new mic is more than just the static, but if I spend 120 bucks on a mic and it gives me the same static; that would suck.

Does anyone have any experience or knowledge about this type of stuff? Does anyone record audio on their laptop with success?
