NeoGAF and Reddit /gaming
Which game site did you come from?
I came from Gamespot. Started there after the great staff all left, but I remembered my brother watching the old On The Spots and such, and decided to start listening to all the old Hotspots. During that, I started to wonder what happened to Gerstmann and the others, and through some quick Google searches came across Giant Bomb, and have been here ever since.
IGN was always the one I used most, but I was always checking reviews and such from other sites (mainly GameSpot).
Gamespot.
Actually, I spent a few years posting on GP and LL, two other sites that were made up of old GS members, before coming to GB.
I came from RF Generation, really messy database glad I left. After that it was GameSpot, the Giant Bomb.
I first heard of The Bomb on TalkRadar, I think they had Jeff on the show one time. I popped over and here I've been!
as far as message boards i used to post on gametrailers forums...i know. and i checked ign and stuff for reviews. keep in mind i'm only 16 so i havent been into this whole "internet" thing as long as some of you guys have.
Came from Gamespot during the big 'transition'. Never even heard of mobygames, rf generation or videogamesdatabase.
Destructoid. Still a good place, but ever since they lost some of their best staff a few months ago and I began disliking the forums, I've only been going over there for news rather than discussion.
Gamespot discovered that site in 01, then came here after the transition this is kinda like the old gamespot but less corporate and more fun best videogame site IMO.
UGO. I hate UGO. Useless spam as far as I am concerned, I try and read an article, and then it pops up UGO.
I picked Gamespot just because it was the most recent. A more accurate answer would be I came from http://www.segafans.com/, http://www.ukresistance.co.uk/, and to a lesser extent SegaWeb(Then GamerWeb - Long gone at this point).
I didn't have a main gaming site before Giantbomb. I just went to different sites but never really posted. Then Giantbomb came around and the rest is history.
I wasn't active on any forums but I used gamespot and gamefaqs, the only forum other than WM ones I have ever used was for official nintendo magazine. I knew about Giant Bomb but didn't really get into it until mega 64 were on the podcast and linked from their site.
Gamespot originally, then on to Gamesradar briefly before settling for a lengthy spell with Kotaku. Until they decided to cock-up their entire network.
" NeoGAF and Reddit /gaming "That explains a lot.
I came over from GameFAQs. Had a brief spell with GameSpot (for pretty crappy blogs) and went back to GFAQs. Then I mainly only visited one or two game forums there, then I just began lurking and no longer posting. Then I slowly made my way here.
" @pikeplacer:Patrick Klepek could be added to that list if you wanna spread the love. I miss John Davison the most though :'(It kills me me to see what happened to 1up. The 1up Show, 1up Yours, 1up FM/Backlog, GFW Radio and Retronauts. All fantastic shows. If you look at the personalities that went through 1up, it makes you wonder what Ziff Davis did to scare those guys off: Mark MacDonald, John Davison, Shane Bettenhausen, James Mielke, Jeff Green, Shawn Elliott and countless others. Jeremy Parish is still there and Scott Sharkey occasionally writes for them, but it's not the same.I know the same can be said for Gamespot, but man I miss the old 1up.Glad I discovered Giant Bomb."
