Poll Who will win the superbowl? (159 votes)

Carolina Panthers 53%
Denver Broncos 23%
Why is there all of this football at my concert? 23%

Superbowl 50 is upon us! Cam Newtons Carolina Panthers are facing up against Payton Mannings Denver Broncos.

What a season, what a season! It all comes down to this folks! The Panthers had the best start to a season by an NFC team in NFL history and the leading offence in the NFL this year. Whereas the Broncos have the best defence by yards allowed.

I think the Panthers will take it, its my lock of the week!

But remember, when your right 52% of the time you're wrong 48% of the time!

Edge to the Panthers. I live in NC and I am a big fan of Peyton so happy either way.

As a dirty foreigner I've never heard of the Carolina Panthers, so the Broncos will win, that's how it works.

Look, I really want the Panthers to win for the NFC and so that J. Stew can get a ring, but I think the Denver defense is going to slow Cam down enough to make them play a different kind of game than they want. The Denver offense is going to have a heck of a time too but I think it will scrape by just enough to win. I hope I'm wrong and Cam just goes Ape Warren all over them, though.

The sports team who sports the most sportingly will win the sports.

If New England isn't playing, then I'm not watching.

Did EA do the thing where they simulate the game and see who won? You guys know what I'm talking about right?

@urbansanta Yep, Carolina Panthers to win 24-20. It has been somewhat accurate in the past and I don't think that's by any means a ridiculous result.

I think the Panthers will probably win, but I cannot root for that egomaniac Cam Newton. So, I would love it if some how the Broncos and the rotting corpse of Peyton Manning could get it done, but the deck seems stacked against them. Then again, they have a good enough defense to make any game a close game. Eh, whatever. I'm just rooting for some good beer and chicken wings.

@urbansanta: They did. 24-20 Panthers.

I think EA/Madden's record is 9 correct out of the last 12.

I want the Panthers to win because they've never won it before and they killed my home team in the playoffs, so if they win then at least the Cardinals lost to the best team all year.

The Broncos's vaunted Defense was seemingly constructed to stop New England's Precision Pocket passing attack, understandably so as you can't get to the Super Bowl in the AFC without beating Tom Brady. I think it's a bad matchup for Denver against a highly mobile Qb and a strong running game. Von Miller and DeMarcus Ware will get into the back field, but I doubt Cam will stick around to get smacked like Brady did. Plus Cam is playing unreal football this year, he is throwing bullets into tiny windows off his backleg. It's nuts.

Unless Denver can pick off Cam a couple times, something nobody has really done this season, I think the Broncos get rolled by multiple touchdowns. There's probably no bunch of players who are more comfortable with their own hype than this Panthers bunch. 35-17 Carolina

I am a lifelong, hardcore, diehard Denver Broncos fan. My mom is from Denver and went to the Super Bowl in 77 when they played the Cowboys (my dad is a Cowboys fan, lol). Looking around my bedroom right now, I'd say about a third of the things in here are Broncos-related in some way.

History says the team with the top defense usually outplays the team with the top offense in the playoffs, and often enough the best team of the year doesn't win the Super Bowl, but I still think this is the Panthers' year. I honestly didn't even think the Broncos would make it past the Patriots, but then they dominated every facet of the game for four quarters, so who knows. I'll obviously be sad if the Broncos lose, but I'll be happy for the Panthers if they manage to cap off a nearly-perfect season and win their first Super Bowl.

I would be very surprised if the Denver Peyton Mannings can pull this off.

Not where I live. Jolly Olde England gets BBC coverage of the game, which is basically four and a half hours of the game commercial free. You can rejoice in a couple of Englishmen smiling politely while ex NFL players most of us have never heard of try to explain what the hell is going on in the simplest possible terms. You can probably stream it for shits and giggles if you have VPN.

That third option made me actually laugh because the only reason I would go if I had tickets would be to see Coldplay.

I wouldn't be surprised if this ended up being a replay of Super Bowl 48 with the Panthers winning big.

Rooting for the Panthers because Ron Rivera, Charles Tillman, and now Jared Allen are all former Bears.

But if Peyton caps off his career with a win, can't say I'd be mad about that.

@alexw00d: You've never heard of the Panthers because they kinda didn't do so well at all until now. I live in NC, near Charlotte, so yeah, I have heard of them. They suddenly got lots of fans when they started winning.

I think (and hope) that the Panthers will take it.

Also the half time acts aren't great if you ask me, than again, opinions and whatnot.
