How many of you guys (and girls) are going to the midnight launch of Gears 3 tonight? I am going with a friend and we are going to pick up our copies then try and beat co-op before my classes start at 10 am.

How about you guys, got any big plans (don't have to be big I suppose) for Gears 3 tonight?

i will be going to the local midnight launch, i kind of can't wait. i feel like a kid at x-mas :)

I'll leave my house about 10 min to midnight, wait in line, purchase, and hurry home. Work is at 10 am, so I can play for a few hours at least.

Going to the gamestop release with some friends, then at 11:45 or so, gonna walk into Walmart and get my copy.

I'll be going to WalMart as soon as it opens tomorrow to get the Epic Edition for $60.

I'll be at my local midnight with a video camera in hand. Then, I have the rest of the week off work to do nothing but sit on my ass and Gears it up. I love paid vacation time.

Got the game pre-ordered from amazon so it should if all goes well be delivered at like 3:30 so pretty much when I get back.

Gonna be a niiiiiiiight.

I was going to go to one until I found out that I wasn't able to change my order to the epic edition. I cancelled my shit and just ordered it from amazon with release date delivery.

Heading out to my local Best Buy to get it, they are raffling off Gunnar glasses to one person in line. That's the only reason I care to go for midnight, otherwise I have class in the morning anyways.

2 stores near my house are open 24 hours a day and both advertised GoW3 in their flyers. I'm wondering if I'll be able to just walk in after 12am and ask for a copy, or will I have to wait until they do stocking in the morning....

Anyone know?

Or I'll have to drive all the way to Best Buy and wait in line like an idiot.

Is the campaign actually dope like everyone says? In terms of story/gameplay?

Nah but I just got my Gamestop shipment confirmation about 15 mins ago I'll probably get some gears in after work tomorrow. Can't be bothered standing in lines at night. If they had an August midnight launch party in a bar id be totally up for that.

@matthias2437: i know Gears of war on PC is why i own a 360. if gears 2 wouldn't have been exclusive to the 360 i may not have bought one but since i loved Gears 1 so much i had to play 2 i have been sold since.

Why would I need to go to some fancy midnight launch when I already have mine? ;)

I am looking foreword to it though, story looks so good. Gears 1 story was pretty throw away, Gears 2 got a little more deep but this one looks like a new level of deep, for the Gears franchise at least.

I'm confused as to why someone on my friends list is already on Act 3 Chapter 3.

I assume it was a delivery fuck up.

And no midnight launch for me, haven't been to one in about 3 years, I'll play it once Amazon brings it to my house.

I have no idea why but I am going to my local midnight launch, Glenrothes, Fife, Scotland, Highly doubt there is any GiantBombers there but if you are hit me the eff up!

I live about 5 min from my local EB Games. About 12:15 I'll walk over and pick up my copy. The line is usually thinned quite a bit by that time.

I would love to go to a midnight opening, but that would mean me getting zero hours of sleep when I have to still work tomorrow.

Makes me want to try it, though. Just how long can one go without slumber?...

Though I won't be playing it until tomorrow because I want my multiplayer unlocks (rewarded for having certain achievements in Gear 1 & 2 as well as awards in the MP Beta). You are permanantly locked out of them if you play the game before the title update released tomorrow.

I'm usually up at midnight anyway whether I want to be or not, so I see no reason not to go.

Attended the Oxford Street Launch in London, huge turnout and lots of giveaways. One of the more impressive Microsoft launches in recent memory.

Waiting on Amazon, so no.

Also, Carlos Ferro dropping F-bombs whilst standing on the counter in GAME - legendary!

Midnight launch at local indie retailer, no preorder. Went with my bro (biologically, but also in the sense of co-op partner) at about 11, played some Gears 2 horde with some of the other shoppers, got my copy just after midnight, went home and played a bunch of the game.

Really impressed by the game, having a great time.

One of the few benefits to being a nightshift employee is that on your night's off, you can just sit down and dig into a good game, uninterrupted, for an 8 hour session if you want. We played a little Horde to warm up and got near the end of the hardcore campaign before getting too tired to go on.

I would say the campaign is dope.

I wish I could have gone to mine. Instead I am taking the day off tomorrow (Wednesday) to play the game. Sometimes work comes before games...just sometimes though...
