Yea I remember these, crazy thing is I have played all of them except for the NES Godzilla 2. I owned the NES and Gameboy stinkers. And yep I too was blown away with the New games, they were everything a Godzilla fan could have wanted and more. Damn them for treating my generation of kids as shit.
I used to love the Godzilla game for NES when I was a kid. I played the shit out of that game. Good times. I was about 7 or 8 years old when I played it, it didn't really need to make any sense.
I've played a lot of these games and I actually own Super Godzilla. I thought it was pretty cool back in the day but I didn't really know any better. I laughed my ass off at Godzilla 2 and the gameboy Godzilla.....funny stuff.
That being said, I was like, 9 or 10 when Destroy All Monsters game out and that game blew my damn mind. It's still better than both of it's sequels because it plays twice as fast. His reaction to that game was similar to mine.
Its been awhile since I enjoyed an episode of AVGN so much. I belive because its similair to how he started off games he played has a kid that were based on things he liked. Lately it seemed he was going out of his way to find bad games to trash.
Does he fight Godzilla? Those kinda episodes (like the bugs bunny one) suck ass. I just like it when he plays the game and curses. Leave the stupid costumes out.
I liked the video...it was pretty damn funny. I liked that he paid tribute to some of the last gen godzilla games. Although I would like to see him do that with some of the now gen games that represent some of the older games of yester year......but thats just me.
The original NES Godzilla was completely impenetrable when I was a kid. A friend rented it one weekend, and we couldn't make heads or tails of how we were supposed to actually progress. I had never heard of the second NES game or the Game Boy game before, but wow.
