The Guild Wars franchise is not a MMORPG but in fact a CORPG (Competitive Online Role-Playing Game), if you would like sources for this check the following link.

    Official Guild War's Wiki
CORPG stands for "Competitive Online Role-Playing Game". Guild Wars was the first game in this genre, since the term was coined by ArenaNet.

You can continue to label it MMORPG but everything in Guild Wars except for outposts (Towns where you can Chat, Trade, etc) are instanced and have a cap of 1 - 24 players at a time, the number between 1 - 24 is picked by the difficulty of the game at the current location of your character.
