Dance Central and Rock Band developer Harmonix has confirmed it has laid off a “small number” of employees today.

“We can confirm that a small number of Harmonix employees were let go today,” a Harmonix representative told IGN. “This decision was made due to shifting staffing priorities for Harmonix's multiple future projects.”

The studio was previously hit with a small round of layoffs in April this year . An identical statement to the one was supplied at the time.

Harmonix is currently working on Fantasia: Music Evolved for Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

It sucks for people to lose their jobs at this time of the year.

It's kinda what I would expect from a company that made such a hard swing from "tiny rhythm game studio making weird techno games" to "GIANT STUDIO MAKING HOT ROCK MUSIC GAME" back to "small studio that is making modestly successful Dance Central and weird Fantasia thing".
