I remember becoming a Gamespot Complete member back in the day for one reason. It wasn't for the 10% discount on games, it wasn't for exclusive betas or member forums or any of the other shit they were selling with their subscription, it was for Gamespot Ice. If you don't know, it was nothing more than an awesome blue color scheme Gamespot was offering to subscribers, and I've been able to find some pictures of it using the wayback machine. I really dug the way the site looked back then, and the great personalities there made it the greatest site on the net. I haven't really spent much time there since Gerstmanngate, but I'm pretty sure this option is gone now. And, since Gamespot is now in the habit of taking our themes and ideas (I mean, really, Gamespot FUSE, and achievement tracker with a bomb logo?) it's only fitting that we borrow something awesome from them, Giantbomb ICE. (of course, we wouldn't have to be assholes and reserve it for subscribers, the option could be available to everybody.)
We could use a third color scheme, take a cue from Gamespot 2005
" @Scooper said:You obviously don't go to any good websites because they're doing that already but they've also got 64 by 64 animated gifs of fire repeated like tiles over the website." It just looks really dated to me. It's all about black nowerdays and in 5 years it'll be wood grain again. "In 5 years it will be space-themed with spinning gifs, a hit counter, and a "under construction" sign. "
