Doom 3.

Only played Prey and Brink (Well, I've played a tiny bit of Doom 3...) I really enjoyed Prey, and I thought Brink felt unique and had some gorgeous visuals.

The only one there that I actually played was Prey.

So I'm going to say Doom 3.

Man that list of games is depressing. I've played all of them except Wolfenstien, I guess Quake Wars was the one I had the most fun with, but even then the game was not that good.

Only played quake 4 of this list, and i didn't care for it much. Is this really all that engine was used for?

None of the above, I'm afraid.

Wow really Brink was running id Tech 4?

Doom 3 followed closely by Prey.

Unfortunately yes. Thanks to its competitor, the Unreal Engine, id Tech 4 was shelved away from developer's eyes and it became a less successful game engine than its predecessor. Such a shame really because I absolutely loved the look and feel of id Tech 4.

Prey was a great game.

Agreed. I love the whole flow of the game and Tommy is so badass. Too bad he's not the main character in the upcoming (and delayed) Prey 2. I want a followup to the original!

Definitely Doom 3.

I've played them all and I think Brink is the best one on the list. The game is to me what the FPS Syndicate is to Jeff.

Did Singularity run on ID Tech 4? I can't recall. I only suspect it might due to being a Raven Software game.

@jjm494: Nah, that was UE3.

#17 Posted by Sooty (6801 posts) - 4 months, 23 days ago

Wolfenstein.

Wolfenstein.

I love Wolfenstein too. Quite a shame it didn't sell well because aside from the multiplayer, the game has got a solid single player experience.

Well, Quake Wars is the only one on that list that I've played- so it gets my vote. :P

The details are cloudy- but I remember preferring Quake Wars for offline/LAN play with bots rather than going online.

Eat your heart out UE3. What do you got, besides Mass Effect, Arkam Asylum, XCOM, Shadow Complex, Borderlands, Gears, DmC...
