Okay Giant bomb i have noticed this for a while (and i don't know if this is the same in America or anywhere else)

But i think music companies make accounts on I-Tunes to 5 star a song .

    Here is a example .

If you are from the UK you can't escape the Media promoting her .

She won "Best critic uprising star" award at the Brits .... ( the Brits are bullshit anyway .)

Basically the Media is telling people

"BUY HER ALBUM SHE IS GOOD !"

And people listen and she gets a number one hit.

".. turbomonkey this isn't new the music industry has been promoting artists like this for years ..im going to troll the forum now "

Well yes you are correct GB this is not new ...

however i believe to further promote new albums the publishing companies make fake Itunes accounts and spam the track with 5 stars and positive reviews .

     Lets look at the review
section for this song shall we ?

There are another 200 of these 5 star reviews
There are another 200 of these 5 star reviews

What do you think GB ? I wouldn't put it past publishers to do this sort of thing .

Holy crap you're right! Scheming iTunes bastards... >_>

If their reviews are dodgy, then the "Most popular downloaded songs" must be bullshit also.

it couldn't be that people don't think for more than a second about reviews at all. i don't use itunes but if i was to rate a song like that it's either a like it or don't decision, i don't need to think on it and decide which songs i like that only deserve 3 stars, maybe 4.

another thing that doesn't really make sense to me, but is related, on the zune software you can rate your songs (not in the marketplace just your collection), but it's just love it or hate it or no rating. but if you hate it, why would you buy it, or keep it around?

I can 100% guarantee that every site that allows user reviews has people related to the product making "fake" accounts to give awesome reviews.

I don't trust any opinions except my own when it comes to music. The reviews are most likely fabricated, but they are not all false.... people who listen to evil cookie cutter bullshit tend to be mindless drones who would rate everything new that week as 5*

Podcasts are the only time the ratings matter IMO.

But you cant really blame Apple, the record companies are gaming the system if they are doing it.

I didn't find the song that bad...  It's not as bad as some of the other shit that's hitting the top of the charts lately, like Lady GaGa or Black-Eyed Peas.

But she can't dance worth a damn; that music video was laughable, horrendous.
