    Overview

Kenshin Uesugi was a warlord of Japan's Warring States era and a rival of Shingen Takeda, the leader of the Takeda clan. He led his forces in battle against the Takeda several times, and through his military prowess earned the nickname "Dragon of Echigo." He was, however, not without his vices; it is said that he was an alcoholic.

    In Samurai Warriors

In the Samurai Warriors series, Kenshin is depicted as a dour, serious warrior with devout belief in Bishamonten, the god of war. He considers Shingen Takeda his nemesis and directly refers to him as such. Samurai Warriors 3 introduced his elder half-sister Aya as a character. He holds great reverence for her, as well, often heeding her advice on the battlefield.
