Knights of Valour

Overview

Knights of Valour brings the classic arcade title back to the PS4. Players can choose from a pool of multiple heroes to stand against the evil forces of the Yan Emperor which threaten the world and trying to throw it into agony.

In a stage-based system players have now to fight with their chosen heroes against theses evil forces and have to complete different objectives for each stage through out the game. Each hero has hereby a own unique set of abilities and skills which helps them to defeat the enemies and complete their objectives. By completing said stages players can level-up their heroes, equip new armor and weapons and learn new skills which makes their heroes more powerful and more steeled against the enemy lines of the Yan Emperor.

With the options to choose from the pool of different heroes and three stage-difficulties, players have the chance to experience multiple play-through's with multiple approaches. This guarantees a good entertainment and a lot of fun especially as players have the option to play in a group over the online co-op with up 4 players.

Heroes

Currently there're seven different heroes to choose from. They differentiate into three classes, namely Power-type, Speed-type and Skill-type. Each of these classes resembles hereby a different play style as heroes of the power class have over all more health points and attack power, whereas heroes of the speed and skill types are more specified in quicker actions and the usage of their abilities in fights.

Each hero has a set of different skills and abilities they can use to defeat enemies. By pointing into a direction and pushing the attack button different attacks can be done. Attacks are divided in normal, special and one ultimate attack. The ultimate attack can only be used after the hero enters a certain battle state, the fury mode. This state can be entered by fighting against enemies using other attacks to fill a charge bar. Is the charge bar full players can enter the fury mode and have for a short time higher protections, a full rage bar which is used to use special attacks and a light health regeneration.

Power Type

The strong and powerful heroes of the power-type are excellent to hit hard and take some hits. Therefore they are good for new players trying to get into the game as mistakes are not as unforgiving as with other class types.

- Guan Yu

Guan Yu weels The Crescent Blade. He is a powerful and loyal fighter which spreads fear among his enemies with his sharp blade and dragon skills.

He is as well one of two heroes which is available right from the beginning.

- Xiahou Dun

Xiahou Duns has a four blades on his back which he can control over his fifth sword in his hand. He is a valiant general and a real storm on the battlefield. His abilities uses the power of thunder and lightning.

Speed Type

Swift and quick that are the special trade marks of heroes of the speed-type. With this they can quickly reposition themselves on the battlefield which makes tactic and aiming for a certain enemy types first a main focus of this class.

- Diao Chan

The beautiful and deadly Diao Chan uses two blades to drive her prey in love and death. She is quick and knows how to put herself in the position to choose if someone should die or if it is more beneficial to let them live a little longer.

- Zhao Yun

With his pike Zhao Yun fights through the enemy lanes with precision and speed. As he focus on the battle you feel the passion that this warrior has within. Even though he seems to be the cold type he is brave, clever and courageous.

- Sun Jian

A master of the long blade. Sun Jian is swift and lethal on the battlefield. With his bigger focus on aerial attacks enemies have a hard time to gain some ground against this skillful warrior. Due to his aerial focus Sun Jian needs a more skill requirement than other heroes.

Skill Type

As the last of the three hero classes, heroes of this type are may seem weak based on their health points but they deal huge amount of damage over their abilities. Due to their weak appearance, Skill-type heroes seem to favor more the fight from a distance, than the direct hand to hand combat. Therefore they have a bigger rage bar what lets them use special attacks more frequently and keep so their distance to the enemies.

- Huang Yun

Huang Yun uses the bow to fight off her enemies. By taking here distance, enemies have a hard time to even try to land a hand on her. Through the ability to charge her arrows the longer she stands in one place a good time management is required to use this heroin to her full scale.

- Zuo Ci

If weapons lose their value in battle Zuo Ci is there to save the day with her magic spells. She is a typical mage heroin. Mysterious, mighty and good for players who want to see the world burn. Her abilities are using all five elements what makes it quite a fun experience to see her enemies freezing, get burned, or just pop.
