Lazy Raiders Review
By - Craig H.
In Lazy Raiders you play as Dr. Diggabone, a rather round archeologist who is looking for 16 different relics. As to not exert himself you will be in control of the environment rather than Dr. Diggabone himself. He will slide and fall wherever gravity takes him.
The gameplay is easy to understand. Simply rotate the world to the left and right to move Dr. Diggabone around the puzzle. You can also press the "A" button to flip the entire map and send Dr. Diggabone crashing to the bottom. Your goal is to reach the pickaxe or the relic located somewhere in each level. This is easier said than done though. Throughout the level are scattered keys that unlock new doors to access more of the map. Each level has several different hazards that react the same way that Dr. Diggabone does to your movements. There are boulders, TNT boxes, and thieves that all will kill Dr. Diggabone and send him back to the start location if they come in contact with him (don't worry you have infinite lives). Also there are stationary hazard such as spikes and fire that you must navigate around to reach the pickaxe or relic. Along with your main objective you can collect gems and golden statues that compute to money. If you plan on topping the online leaderboards of each level you must complete the level with the most gold in the fastest time. Levels become very challenging when you reach the latter stages and must avoid numerous moving hazards all at once.
The game feature over 75 levels of increasing difficulty as well as the aforementioned online leaderboards to see if you have the skills to collect the most gold in the shortest amount of time. If you don't care for Dr. Diggabone, done worry because the developers have included the option to use your Xbox 360 Avatar whenever you please. At the main menu you can choose which character you want and jump right into the game.
Overall, Lazy Raiders is a simple yet challenging puzzle game. The infinite lives leave the game from being frustrating for the easy going players. But, the skill required to top the leaderboards will provide the experts incentive to keep playing. Whether your a novice or an expert Lazy Raiders has something for every puzzle lover.
