Same Madden Taste, Revamped Flavor!
Ok, so I was skeptical about the Madden this year, as I am sure that a lot of other Madden fans where. I'm on the fence about the NFL licensing idea, and am a firm believer that if there were two companies that could make a football with the NFL there would be much more innovation, and because there aren't were stuck with a release that is marginally the same every year.
However, this year the game was promised to make strides in many areas and that its finally the new taste of the franchise. Upon starting the game you are welcomed by John Madden himself and you are asked if you want to take the IQ test. I think its a cool quarky idea, although it doesn't neccessarly reflect what you can do against a team of 11. So I took the test, and scored a 550. Great, if levels me to where it said it would be challenging for me and showed my what I was strong and weak in. I loaded up my first preseason game and I actually struggled incredibly rushing the ball.
I lost IQ points and it balanced out to how I preformed. Pretty awesome. Give it a 5 to 6 games to start getting a feel for your averages and it actually does shine. I support this idea in the game and Give it a thumbs up!
Everything else though however feels the same, franchise, superstar, and all the other same modes that have been in the game for the longest time are the same.
Graphics are awesome, everything on that end has been updated and its quite fun to see player jersey's really actually get muddy. It's just awesome.
Overall this is the freshest Madden game released in years, and I am glad to have got it when I did. Well worth the buy.
