I want to play Mass Effect 2 again but was thinking is it better to play through the first game again and carry over my saved game?  Or is it better to just play the 2nd game over on its own?  My worry is that it won't be the same game without transfering all of what I did on a 2nd playthrough of the first game.  Just want advice peeps!
    Thanks alot

You'll miss out on a couple quests and some dialog(and Wrex), but other than that it's pretty much the same. It's always fun to carry over a Shep, though.

I wanted to play ME2 again for the first time since it game out, so I decided to go whole hog and start from ME1 with a completely different gender, class, relationship, and morality focus, making different choices all the way. I think it was worth it to see those ddecisions change throughout both games, and I imagine once 3 comes out it'll be even cooler! If you have the time, go through 1 again.

I could honestly never play through a default ME2 game. I always take advantage of everything they give in games to make your playthroughs as unique as possible. And while ME is a tough game to traverse for some, the main story, where all the most significant importing decisions reside, is only like 12 hours long. I'd vote you import a new Shep.

I've played through it a few times, but my characters are a bit messy due to replaying the campaign with the same characters. Some time before 3 I plan on going through ME1 (which I have played about six times) again with a fresh character, then going through ME2 again to get ready for 3.

A sound plan! Certainly in the run up to ME2's release I did three back-to-back playthroughs of ME1 to generate new Shepards for import, and have everything fresh in my memory. I'm particular looking forward to being able to do the 'whole trilogy marathon' when ME3 comes out. I doubt I'll ever again feel the warmth of the sun on my face, or feel the wind in my hair. But that's okay, because I'll be too busy to care :-)
