    Matoya's Cave is a location in Final Fantasy and the home to the witch Matoya.

    Matoya lives in this cave just to the north of the town of Corneria. She is blind, but is still able to use her crystal ball to see the future. The dark elf Astos stole the crystal ball from her lair, so she asks the four Warriors of Light to retrieve it for her.
     
    Matoya also keeps a few magic brooms in her cave. When spoken to, they speak cryptically to the player. The first line of this message, when read backwards, reveals a command for the player to view the world map.
