Server maintenance so it'll be back at 3 AM I guess
That would explain why I can't connect online.
Servers just went back up for me, but it's saying it cannot pull the MGO data off the store. When I look for the add-on it's not there, just MB coins, but if I search it in my browser I seem to be able to pull it up. Nevermind, page at some point changed to say it's unavailable.
Oh well
@flstyle: You could join one of the many Phantom Pain communities on PSN, except there's conveniently no way to search communities, so good luck if you want to find a specific one.
Here is a shocker! Just loaded it up and the servers were down.
This is unprecedented!
@honkalot: Yes.

The download for MGO isn't even available yet...
@devil240z: Depends on where you're at. They're rolling it out slowly, so for some it'll be up much sooner than others, but everybody should have access by the end of the 6th.

But it is a thing you have to manually download from the PS store right? cause I don't see jack and i'm on the west coast.
@devil240z: They don't have any estimate on when each time zone will have access to it, but yes. You download it from the Playstation Store after installing the patch. My timezone is a bit ahead of yours and it's still not up for me. Most likely - and I'm just assuming - they're rolling it out based on which timezone is further ahead. It seems like a lot of people overseas already have access to it, which is what I'm basing that on.
I'm in the UK (so gmt) and I was prompted on the main menu to download MGO from the Playstation store, so it's up here!
Well I say up. After downloading and installing it, I have just launched it. Now I am chilling out in the little free roam hub area waiting while it tries to find a game for me to connect to. Is possibly my poor internet connection.
EDIT: Tried connecting to a match manually and that eventually worked. Trying some Cloak and Dagger at the moment, seems fun so far.
Apparently not for me, i doubt it even comes out on pc. By january konai will say fuck it.
"MGO will be available on ALL platforms Oct 6"
"Pc still scheduled for January"
Managed to get one game in about and hour and a half for trying. Guess servers are take a beating. Should say im in the UK.

Same. Since my initial luck at joining games, I've not been able to at all after checking in and out for a couple of hours now.
When I try to autojoin, I get a message about a network error.
When I try to manually join, it either can't find a game or the game is full.
So no MGO at the moment! But the small amount I did play was fun.
Although Walker Gears seem to be preeeety powerful.
Any UK duders managed to get a game of this yet? I've created a game but it's been sitting in matchmaking for 20 minutes with no one at all finding me. It does seem like there are a good number of games going on that are password locked though.
@walkertr77: For some reason whenever I try to join games with only one person in them (I'm guessing the host) it says it can't find them.
I've only been able to connect to games that are like, half full. I just this second connected to one that was 6/12 and that worked.
Although now that I'm in it's just been two people stat padding while the timer counts down.
Seriously they keep interrogating each other over and over. They must be friends or something.
I honestly haven't even thought about stat padding as a concept since I played Battlefield 2.
I was going to complain about how stupid the pvp combat is in this game (which it is) but then I just turned on some MSX Metal Gear music and it became fun.
Bounty Hunter is still dumpster though.
I commented in another thread about a bad experience that I'll just copy/paste here. Played a little more since then and it seems ok. Pretty laggy right now though but I'm just surprised I've actually been able to find games so I guess that's good? Anyway here is something I mentioned earlier that is totally fucked on ps4:
Well I had a host leave a game which kicked me out to the free play menu. On top of that any progress I had made during that game was completely lost because that guy quit. Not sure if that's a bug but if it's functioning as intended that is totally fucked.
On the bright side, picking music you want to play reaching all the way to the msx games is fucking cool

how? when I was in the online lobby just couldn't connect to any online servers. Maybe the download wasn't ready for you yet, but I already had it downloaded at the time I posted this.
Watching the Quick Look, it looks cool but a couple aspects, mainly the D-Walkers all over and the constant stealth camo, make it look unappealing. I think going co-op would have been better but hey, I don't make the games.
Anyone want to play some games on PS4? Does the community game thing work? How can we get a game started up?

Yeah d-walkers seem OP, i dig the stealth camo but there needs to be a counter measure for other classes besides just seeing a cqc prompt lol. Hopefully by january this game will be more balanced. :-(
The stealth camo isn't too bad, as I've been gunned down plenty of times while using it as people saw the shimmer. There are also latter items+ perks to counter it (Spotting grenades and a assault perk that pings when an enemy is nearby)
Right now there doesn't seem to be a reliable way to take down Walker Gears, as they just soak up damage and can dish out death incredibly quickly. If an enemy team gets out 2-3 of them and get into your spawn, they're very little you can do to counter it. Even as an infiltrator getting behind them and getting the CQC prompt is very very hit and miss as they can 180 in a heartbeat.
Played a bit on PS4. What a weird game. A few things:
1.) D-Walkers need to be something that pops up once or twice a match. More than a few times I've seen about 4 D-walkers running around a map at a time. Its just not fun!
2.) Stealth camo seems incredibly situational. It's one of those things where it only helps you be stealthy if you are already in an advantageous position for it. It has that trademark 'shimmer' that anyone whose run into cloaked enemies in video games already knows how to spot from yards away.
3.) Going non-lethal is... difficult. Trying to tranq someone only really works if you get a headshot, or if you manage to riddle them with 4 or 5 darts at a time. CQC also seems kind of janky, but it's real satisfying when it works.

1. I agree. Too many Dwalkers in a single game is lame
2. Im fine with stealth camo for the most part but I think shooting should deactivate it since its already bad enough that you can't mark them. I like playing with a sniper and when I see a dude in stealth camo sprinting at me and shooting its lame that I can't at least mark them for my teammates to help me out.
To be clear on my complaint, I am not complaing about the stealth camo as far as balance but just that it's too bad that's how you have to do stealth in a multiplayer game. Not that I have answers on how to do it without stealth camo but yeah it's just kind of lame.
I think the Walker Gear (D-Walker is the name of your specific buddy in the single player, Walker Gears are the ones you can fulton from the AI) thing will be far less of a problem once more people level up and get heavier equipment, like anti-material sniper rifles or RPGs. I don't see them taking more then one or two hits.
@mirado: You can rip the pilots out the back from close range, so there's already a way to take 'em out quickly if you can get behind them! Not to say that they aren't still quite powerful, but you know.
