A Fresh Dose Of New Super Mario Bros. Wii For Your Weekend

Last week I got a delightful hour of hands-on time with New Super Mario Bros. Wii. Oh, you didn't read it? It's cool, I'll wait for you. Please, go ahead. 
 
I only urge you to read my hard work because, after feasting your eyes upon these new assets Nintendo has released for the game, you might not bother reading at all.  

 
  
 

 
Seriously, the preview makes a nice companion piece to these assets! Validate my hard work, won't you? 
 
While you're at it, how are you feeling about this game? It's only a month away, hitting retail on Nov. 15 in the U.S. and all.

I know it's dumb, but I wish they went back to sprites for stuff like this. The last 2d Mario game that actually looked like a Mario game to me was World.
 
The suits and ice flowers are pretty awesome though.

It'll be my fourth Wii game I get, 50% of them will be Mario. :P

I just wish it had online play. Everyone I know that lives in my area is off in Iraq. I would love to be able to play this on four players with my friends that live elsewhere.

That's nostalgia. The new gamers today (all 8 billion of them) will see this as the real Mario.

Looks fun, but I won't get it. Probably be pretty short like the DS version. But I'll take 2D Mario over 3D Mario anyday.

Hmmm...not sure, looks kinda gimpy, like something's missing. Doesn't look as solid as the original 2d games. I'll keep an eye on it, but probably won't get it anytime soon. I agree with august, I would like to see some sprites return. The models look disappointingly boring in their 3d rendition.

Can't say I'm to excited, it looks like they took 90% of the resources straight from NSMB, even the music.

Dig Deeper into New Super Mario Bros. Wii

The first 2D Mario platformer for a home console in over 15 years. Though it has single-player, it focuses heavily on cooperative multiplayer, allowing up to 4 players to play simultaneously. This game also premiered Nintendo's Super Guide hint system.
