Q Entertainment's Child of Eden Announced

It's kinda like Rez.

Child of Eden looks a lot like that time you drove to Ozzfest, sans van and plastic baggies. It's been billed as a "multi-sensory shooter," that'll have you fighting inside a "kaleidoscopic matrix of [trippy] synchronized music" and neon shapes in 2011.

A demo of Eden kicked off Ubisoft's E3 2010 media briefing last night, which served as an announcement and a first look at the Rez-like game. During the demo, a man with white gloves acted as if Eden will require a level of care and precision akin to a doctor tasked with cutting out a heart tube or something.

The game is trippy, for sure, as it'll plunge you into neon cylinder after neon cylinder, all the while asking you kill stuff with a groove. And perhaps adding to this experience will be the Kinect-compatible controls. According to press materials after the demonstration, the Kinect component will give your body the ability to move the camera while your hands will form the shooter's reticule.

Child of Eden is slated for a Q1 2011 release. It's being developed by Q entertainment.
