Video Game News, Stories and Updates for the PS3, XBOX 360, PC, PSP, Wii, and DS

In case you haven't seen it going around, Sony put out a helpful chart in the wake of CES to explain why the PlayStation 3 is actually an amazing deal--the best bang for the buck in the business! Here is said chart:

A good use of color sets this chart apart from the rest.
A good use of color sets this chart apart from the rest.

Totally flawless logic, right? Not at all pouncing on things that are sort-of-kind-of true and exploiting them as much as possible! Wired's Chris Kohler has some context for this chart and the press release that came along with this wild piece of spin.

What is immediately obvious here...is a feeling like Sony has finally been reduced to grasping at straws. We needn't even delve too deeply into the half-truths (there are cheaper hard drive solutions for Arcade buyers; HDMI was available in every Xbox on shelves this holiday). But is this really the whole message?

Yes -- you get more machine for your $400 with PlayStation 3. But since when has anything but price and killer app games ever decided a console war?

Since Sony is starting to sound a little desperate when it comes to justifying the console's current price point, I figured I'd give them a hand. So here's an updated chart that totally puts this issue to bed.

Buy a PlayStation 3 ASAP to reverse the damaging effects of other consoles!

Case closed, bitches. Sell your stupid Red Ring device and toss that ham sandwich in a lake. If you don't buy a PS3 immediately after reading this, you must HATE MONEY.

A delicious ham sandwich can accept any upgrade you throw at it. It's also the only console that tastes great.

As a side, I haven't come close to laughing this hard in weeks. Thanks, Giant Bomb!

Oh, and a simple solution for Xbox360 Wifi support at an affordable price: get a $20 wireless bridge in a sale.

It is a bit excessive for Sony to actually release this, especially in such a ghetto way, but it is kind of ridiculous to compare the 199$ 360 to the 399$ (or 499$) PS3, which I personally run into in the real world all too frequently.

Goes to show. PS3 has the best hardware at the most affordable price. Now all they need is the best games and for the trophies to be as addictive as achievements and they're all set.
Seriously, though I was a fanboy for the hardware, I was converted to neutrality because of the lack of decent games. Shame.

Forget this, I'm buying the ham sandwich. Much better deal than a PS3.

Well as biased as that chart is.  Its 100% true.  In the long run the 360 is much more expensive with the ps3.

That chart has been around for a while, they just revised it for the updated price points. ;-)

and like others have said, it's biased but it's true.
