Earlier this week, rumors concerning a brand-new handheld from Sony kicked into overdrive, partially fueled by "I know a guy who knows a guy" rumors and partially fueled by "pssst... guess what I heard about at Destination PlayStation" talk.
MTV Multiplayer's Stephen Totilo connected with Sony's director of PSP marketing,
John Koller, to discuss this supposedly disc-free sequel. Though there isn't too much in the way of stunning new information, Sony wisely had much more to say than the standard "we do not comment on rumors and speculation" line. Good questions from Totilo, as well.
MTV Multiplayer: Ok. Just so we can have this as clear as we can get it: the rumor out there is that there’s going to be a new PSP that doesn’t use the UMD coming out by the end of the year. True or false?
Koller: Can’t comment either way, but I will reiterate that the digital component is very important to us. That’s all we can say at this point.

I hope there is a new one. I would love two analog sticks.
sony's been churning out re-hash after re-hash...eventually they'll need to come up with a totally new thing to appease the user base, even if that may mean pissing off the current generation of PSP1 owners =\
Sony, the PSP is a flop pile of shit. Just give us great games to play before you re-design your grand folly.
Yeah, they've only sold 50 million PSP units. What a flop!
