As
Microsoft announced back in February, online support for the
original Xbox and its associated games will be coming to an end soon--April 14th, to be exact--and, much like we did for
The Matrix Online, we'll be live streaming the final minutes of the service. The focus will definitely be squarely on
Halo 2--with members of the Waypoint team at
343 Industries potentially making some online guest appearances and beating our asses mercilessly--though we might try and sneak in a little
Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge or
MechAssault while we're at it.
So tune in
tomorrow night, April 14th, at 10PM PDT for our live two-hour broadcast of these bittersweet end of times! Until then, enjoy this
Warthog jump video, which remains my favorite
Halo video ever.
UPDATE: We've done some preliminary testing, and have created a shortlist of additional Xbox Live games we may spend some time with. If you've got an Xbox and want to join in on the fun, be sure and have these games at the ready!
Awesome!
What time is that in the UK?
As for the live stream. I'll pop in providing I'm not baking cup cakes at the time. (No really, I am).
Good times.
damn!
I'll definitely be watching tomorrow! I guess I *could* jump in and join the endgame festivities with some Halo 2, but as a person who hasn't played console shooters well in ages, I doubt it'd be all that fun for me.
Like 5AM.
Hopefully they'll put this out as a proper video too.
Aw, who'm I kidding? That won't happen. One of the unsung greats of Xbox Live, though.
And Burnout 3 was undoubtedly my favorite Xbox Live title. I'll be sorry to see the support go.
Too bad, i thought it was about 8AM, no way im getting up that early. Hopefully they'll do as you said and put it out as a proper video.
Will it be posted on the site after the fact?
6AM in the UK (also on the 15th)
