I’m not familiar with Jeff Grubb’s work but I really like the sound of his show. I love the inside baseball talk about the industry and why companies are doing what they’re doing; that kind of thing always interested me most when the Bombcast would stray into it so a whole show about it sounds great.

Soulsborne catalog? woah woah, if we're going with that name scheme shouldn't we say Soulsborniro by now? Maybe Elden King's Soulsborniro Tower? I never understood why calling it a Fromgame or simply 'the souls games' had to be traded in for this unwieldly moniker. It's not like we're out there talking about MetroidOriVania Knight games whenever a new influential game pops up. Yes, this is the battle i have decided to take and i will not get over it! It's a blight on the genre naming world!

Looking forward to the new phase. I'm quite into Bruce Springsteen after all. :)

This sounds like a good initial lineup of shows. Making the first episodes free is a good idea, and extending the sub sale to include the first week of this new content is a great way to show that Giant Bomb appreciates its audience.

Sweet, these seem like shows with real meat on them. Very excited, and thankful that Danny seems like he's putting in a large amount of effort into these projects.

Very much looking forward to all of these. And it will be nice to have some edited content on the site again. In the deluge of livestreams last year, Abby's highlights of her Sims streams were refreshing to have over a whole bunch of stuff you'd throw up in the background.

Jeff Grubb, Tamoor Hussain, and Lucy James will be excellent additions to the Giant Bomb Universe/Family. The future of Giant Bomb is pretty damn exciting, if you ask me.

Not that excited to see a bunch of souls games being played. I'd much rather see someone playing a more niche title that I wouldn't touch in a million years, but is intriguing. I say this as the "this day in Giantbomb" has the first episode of "Dave Fortress," a feature on Dwarf Fortress. No way was I ever going to touch that game, but that short series rules.

The promise of more edited content is intriguing. Danny sounds super excited about his projects and Noclip is the best in the biz for production value so I'm excited for this change of pace!

I'm hoping Jeff's guilty treasure is Kickman.

I wasn’t sure how I felt about another Soulsborne playthrough, but the clip Danny posted (in the reply to the embedded tweet above) sold me on it. I loved the Breaking Brad and Janborne playthroughs, but there is a ton of filler content for someone watching unedited runs.

As for Grubbsnax, the name alone sold me.

I’ve watched lot of Souls content by now, but I’ll watch more with Danny holding the reins. Happy about it being edited too, as I often zone out between bosses while watching these games.

Unfortunately nothing announced here is really floating my boat. I don't know Jeff Grub, industry news is not really my thing. I like Danny and Tamoor but Souls games I just don't get. I like Danny's interview style but again old games are just old games to me, nothing special. I appreciate that GB feels it has to move on but I feel it is moving away from the things that I enjoyed about the site which makes me sad. I will keep in touch, for how long I don't know, we all have to move on I suppose.

Not gonna lie the Borne to Run idea is a little played out at this point. There are entire channels dedicated to playing these games and tons of Youtubers/Twitchers that have done this exact thing. I actually think this is kinds ripping off the Prepare to Try series the former IGN UK boys did before they left to form RKG and continued it there. Like Dannny is basically Rory Powers and Tamoor is Daniel Krupa.

I love me some Soulsborne so I'm gonna check it out but it does seem pretty low effort considering how much of this content already exists out there.

This is exactly how I feel too. I had no idea who Jeff Grubb was until yesterday, and I really don't pay attention to or care about industry news for the most part. And the world straight up doesn't need another Souls focused piece of media of any kind at this point because the video game space is so oversaturated with it. The games are fine, but there's just so much of this content already. But I feel you, Giant Bomb's trajectory and my own trajectory are not the same at this point and though I just re-upped my premium for another year, I really don't know how much time I'll be spending here in the next twelve months because ultimately, I don't really care about any of this stuff.

This all sounds really cool. I think I’m premium through 2023 now too.

I’m in agreement with the last few posts.

Making up a pun title then trying to fit a show around it or vice versa doesn’t really do anything for me.

If the Guilty Treasures show is based on some of the staff’s favourite titles then it’s probably content that’ll have been covered elsewhere on the site.

A lot of people sound excited for the new shows though.

@pudking: It is pretty disingenuous and dismissive of the work putting this all together to assume they are coming up with pun titles with shows to fit them. They may not be what you’re interested in, that’s fine, but there’s no need to assume the worst prior to even seeing any of the content. I, for one, am excited for each of the 3 projects - especially Borne to Run.

This is cool! Glad to see things moving along. The only thing I'm thinking about is the edited souls runs. I would be excited to see the rough unedited videos too as a subscriber bonus. Doesn't matter how scrappy, as that to me is kind of the true 'endurance run' experience, though I understand this isn't ER.

Grubbsnax sounds like a show made for me, as I like gaming news about the process of making games (instead of whatever streamer/e-sports person is now freshly toxic), so I'm very into that. Guilty Treasures could be something special if folks really dig deep and pull out some strange games, which it sounds like Jeff G(e) has — I don't necessarily agree with the point that these games will be retreads on this site. Not really into soulsborne games but I always give shows like this a chance to entertain me because sometimes (Load Our Last Souls) they do, and I can't argue with the hosting choices. I also hope, based on how Danny described it, this could venture into games that aren't traditionally considered Souls games but share some of their properties. (ZombiiU, very underrated)

The notion that they came up with titles first and ideas later is absolutely absurd. You're basically discrediting 80% of the entire GB premium catalog if you think that's how the creative process works.

Frankly I'm astonished at the turnaround this site is going through, I was really doubting the future of it for a few years. But I can genuinely say I'm excited about this new direction and the new shows. Can't wait to tune in!
