Achievement Whores Only
Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian
Let's get it out of the way...this is a game for Achievement whores only. It is extremely short, unbelievably easy, and edged out only by Avatar: The Last Airbender as the easiest 1000 point game in existence.
You play Not Even Close To Ben Stiller, who is loosely based on Ben's poorly performed starring role in the movies which were way more enjoyable than they had any right to be. Your character is a security guard with dark hair...which completes the way he is similar to Mr Stiller. Its really odd how little like Stiller he looks...since Ben voices him. You'd think they'd try to make him look a bit like Ben, wouldn't you?
Its a very easy 3D platformer taking place over several museums as you try to stop Kahmunrah from gaining the mystical tablet and taking over the world. You do basic platforming and basic puzzle solving...but it's never really that bad. It's not amazing, mind you, but it is serviceable.
The developers avoided the curse that so many other developers fall into: they didn't pad this at all. The 7 or so levels takes, maybe, 3 hours to finish. While I admit that charging full price for a game this short is criminal, the experience is aided immensely by not making the game mechanics boring. You don't do anything long enough for it to become boring. The controls are adequate for the mechanics, but the game is rather devoid of a challenge.
For $60, this is an epic ripoff. I bought mine for $9 and its worth that much. Give it a whirl, but if you don't care about Achievements, I don't get why you'd waste the time.
